Glossary of words that may come up in discussion
Bandwidth: The amount of information that can be transferred across an internet connection.CSS: Cascading Style Sheets provide a way to make a style change (font, colors, etc..) to a page while automatically changing the other pages.
Domain Name: The unique name given to your website. Usually ending in .com or .net (For example: cometcreations.com)
Download: Files are downloaded from the internet to a computer.
FTP: File Transfer Protocol. An Internet protocol enabling users to remotely access files on other computers. This is a program used to upload files to a server from a designer's computer.
HTML: Hyper Text Mark-up Language is the code used in creating a web page to display the design to browsers.
Meta Tags: provide document data to search engines. Most common: meta description tag (sentence/ short paragraph describing site) and the meta keywords tag (approximately 15 words that describing site).
Web Hosting: A service that stores your images, files, pages for online viewing.
